Amb. Godknows Igali, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, said Nigeria was focusing more on hydro power generation in its new energy mix due to the environmental degradation associated with fossil fuels.
``Apart from being environmentally friendly, small hydro power generation can be transmitted off-grid for use by small, rural communities around the dams.
