The Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has commissioned an Abuja Forum office for electricity complaints.
Speaking at the commissioning in Gwarimpa, Abuja, yesterday, Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, who was represented by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Godknows Igali, stressed the importance of the office in feedback process in the emerging electricity industry.
He said the office was a critical component of the power sector roadmap noting that “there must be structures of interaction put in place to amicably resolve complaints without resorting to legal issues when the new owners take over.”
Igali, who assured that the success trend in the power sector could not be reserved, maintained that government was determined to make the sector work just like the telecoms and banking sectors, adding, “this shame of darkness will become a thing of the past.”
