INCESSANT shortage of power supply in the country will become a thing of the past by 2015, Commissioner for Engineering, Standards and Safety, at the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Mrs Mary Awolokun, has assured.
The commissioner said the commission was working towards achieving this through the efforts of the National Integrated Power Projects (NIPPs), which have been able to add over 1000 megawatts to the existing watts in the country.
Speaking at a reception in honour of the Aramoko indigenes on their special national appointment, she disclosed that there were plans to give an additional 2,000 watts to the grid before or by May 12, adding that the addition would boost the present power generation, which is 4,500mw.
