The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) yesterday said that schedule for meters had been approved by Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE).
The Chairman of NERC, Dr Sam Amadi said this while addressing the newsmen in Abuja at the Stakeholders, Workshop on Metering Code 2 held by the commission in Abuja.
According to him, the Single Phase and 3 Phase meters consumers will pay N25,000 and N50,000 respectively .
He explained that as from tomorrow the full schedule would be announced by NERC, adding that there are different meters.
Amadi explained that the cost of these meters would be slightly higher if consumer was using smart meter or systemise meter, He said that the Distribution Companies of Nigeria (DISCOs) were under obligation to meter consumers within 45 days who had paid for meter from January 2011.
