The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathon has commended General Electric for its commitment to transforming Nigeria’s power through various initiatives including investents in gas turbines and partnerships with other stakeholders. The commendation came at the Presidential Power Reform Transactions Signing Summit which took place at the presidential villa in Abuja recently.
Other partners of GE whose roles also received presidential commendation include Transcorp, Geometric, Honeywell, Oats Global and Ibom. The presidential commendation was in acknowledgement of the joint development agreements signed to bring incremental power to the grid.
In his speech at the forum, President Jonathan stated, “Today’s event signals a major step forward in the implementation of our Power Sector Roadmap. I congratulate the signing parties for reaching this significant target in our collective efforts to revitalize this sector, which is so important to our lives and development. I must also commend all private sector players for their commitment to and confidence in our economy. Your zeal and presence here today, is an ample proof of your endorsement and confidence in the implementation and progress so far, of our power reform Agenda”, he said.
