The House of Representatives yesterday called on the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to apologise Nigerians for the incessant power failure being experienced in the country.
House Committee Chairman on Power, Hon. Patrick Ikhariale, disclosed this yesterday during a stakeholder meeting with the Ministry of Power, Bereau for Puyblici Enterprise, BPE, and some transmission companies over the state of power supply in the country.

The House of Representatives yesterday raised alarm of the downward trend in the power generation in the country, blaming it on the non release of money allocated to the power sector by the minister of finance, Prof Ngozi Okonjo-Iwela.
The committee summoned the stakeholders to come and brief the lawmakers on the on-going privatization process of DISCOS and GENCOS, the Role of Bureau of Public Enterprises in the privatization process, Status of the DISCOS, GENCOS and TCN and the level of implementation of the 2013 capital budget.
