Electricity consumers in the Lagos zone have been assured that the adoption of the Credit Advance Payment for Metering Installation (CAPMI) within the network of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKDC) will put to rest the incessant cases of “crazy billing system,” the Managing Director, Mr. Oladele Amoda, has said.
Amoda stated this at the launch of the CAPMI programme in Lagos at the weekend. He said the introduction of CAPMI was necessitated by the introduction of accelerated intervention scheme by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to address the challenges of estimated billing of customers.
To make the initiative a reality while also ensuring prompt and effective installation of pre-paid meter to customers, Amoda said EKDC was partnering two local meter manufacturers to commence CAPMI within its network.
