Two men on Friday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over alleged battery of a Power Holding Company of Nigeria worker who attempted to disconnect their electric power supply.
Kunle Adeyemi, 22, and Adebowale Peter, 20, both of whom reside at First Gate, Powerline, Ikorodu, are standing trial on a two-count charge of battery and obstruction.

According to the Prosecutor, Sgt. Iyabo Johnson, the duo battered Mr Adeoye Temitope, on July 17 at their residence.
Johnson said that the duo inflicted injuries on the eyes of the worker.
She said that the worker attempted to stop the power supply due to indebtedness of the accused to the company.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 171 and 172 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty, and were granted bail in the sum of N200,000 and two sureties in like sum.
