The Eko Electricity Distribution Company {DISCO} has entered into a partnership with two indigenous companies, Momas and Mojec international, who are manufacturers of pre –paid meters and other accessories to produce and make the meters available for customers.
The scheme known as the Credited Advance Payment Implementation, CAPMI scheme kicked off in Lagos with Eko Distribution Company of Power Holding Company of Nigeria blazing the trail.
The Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, the regulatory body of the power sector had earlier ordered all DISCO’s in the country to commence the CAPMI scheme in a bid to close the gap of customers not metered in the country.
The scheme which is meant for willing customers who will pay up-front for the purchase of the meter was officially launched weekend in Lagos by EKO DISCO.
