Workers in the employ of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) have called on the Federal Government to honour the June 17th date for the payment of their severance package, saying shuffling the date amounts to insincerity on the part of government. Central Executive Council member of the National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE), Comrade Musa Yunusa Ayiga, in an interview with our correspondent in Lagos yesterday, said government needs to show seriousness on its part. The Federal Government last week announced that it would pay the sum of N384 billion severance package to disengaged workers in the employ of the PHCN.
